The art of caricature has been around since the middle ages.  Notorious for their mean depictions of politicians in news, they are also flattering and entertaining with the right humour mixed in. They draw cartoonized portrait based on the drawing style however it is never a random computer generated distortion but an exagerated drawing to accentuate the likeness of a person. It takes a high level of drawing skills and experience to do it right.
